5 days....

'til D-day!

Things that makes me mad...

I was just watching a tv-show called "Big business" where they were talking about the obesity situation in the US.  Among other things they visited a private school 40 miles from San Fran, where parents would send their obese kids to teach them how to eat right. The school was kinda expensive, $5900/month, and the kids would stay at the school for about six months.
Anyway, when you would see a commersial about the school on TV, it would show the kids eating healthy meals, excersizing, learning how to cook healthy meals.

In reality, the focus was put on serving low calorie food where the kids could overconsume on artificial sweeteners as much as they wanted to (I'm talking cancercausingAspartame here folks), drink diet sodas with loads of ice, they would be served pretzels and fig-bars for snack (oh well, they could choose to eat fruits as well, but none of them did) saying it was a "healthy snack" just because it was low- or nonfat (retards). In cooking class the kids were supposed to learn how to cook a healthy meal, and the assignment of the day was Thanksgiving-potatoes. No,potatoes aren't bad for you, and they do eat sweet-potatoes for Thansgiving over there. But what they did in cooking class at that school was that they used peeled potatoes that were canned and preserved in syrup. SYRUP! Geez Louise.... The teacher in charge said  "oh but we do drain the potatoes so we don't use the syrup. And we don't have that much time to use fresh potatoes and peel them ourselves so this works fine". Then they showed you how it looked like in the storage room where they kept all the food: There were NO fresh vegetables or fruits in there, just canned and preserved stuff.
The video from the school showed the kids excersizing in the gym, but what they actually did in there was using the pilates balls to sit on while watching TV, play Wii (oh, they were standing up while playing video games, so the teacher in charge of that department were happy as long as the kids were standing up and not just sitting on their asses). He also said that they didn't want the kids to get bored,  they needed to be entertained. So that's why they were allowed to play video games.
The kids were not even supervised by a physician during their weight loss.
For this extraordinary program the parents would pay $5900 PER MONTH. Can you believe that? It's the most retarded thing I've heard in a long time. If they would hire a private teacher, fly her and the kid in question over to Sweden, I would charge them $1500/month and they would get:
  1. Nutritious homecooked meals WITH calories and healthy fat. Without ANY artificial sweeteners what so ever. Healthy bread made of spelt, rye etc. A lot of fresh fruits and veggies. Clean spring water to drink (NO SODAS!!!)
  2. Excersize indoors AND outdoors. Tv-games would only be allowed on saturdays. The kids would have to learn how to entertain themselves on their spare time (something that a lot of kids these days have no idea how to)
  3. Cooking classes where we would use fresh produce, no crappy canned/preserved foods soaked in syrup, yuk.
  4. Regular health exams by a physician to supervise that they were loosing weight AND being healthy.

How does that sound? Maybe this is what I'm supposed to do during the summer when I don't have my pole classes. Hhhhmmmm......

Where's the f¤#%&¤#g sun?

The weather report keep on telling me it's sunny outside, even though I haven't seen the sun since 8am this morning, hmmmm. It actually looks like it's about to rain. But I'm gonna ignore the weather gods and head out for some walkin' (or hiking as it would be in L.A.).

Oh, and I've also got a secret cookin', but I'll never tell....

10 days until d-day. We've started unpacking Jespers ole household stuff to switch out his dads stuff since he's moving out next week (his dad that is, not Jesper). Jesper's been braggin about him having sooooooo many drinking glasses, I've found 6 of them so far. I'm also a bit of a glass-freak, but I have about 6 banana boxes FULL of drinking glasses at my peep's, now that's what I would call a drinkingglassfreak. I guess there's a difference between guys and gals after all.....

Some weekend pics n stuff!

First a BIG congrats to the Young family who just welcomed their little prince Charlie on may 6th!!! Can't believe you have a new little one that'll soon be running around like there was no tomorrow. Miss you guys!

I went to Stockholm for my last Ayurvedic class, and took the time to go down to Malin & jocke in Vagnhärad for their birthdayy/housewarming party. Had to leave kinda early but I managed to take a pic of all the girls before I left:

I also took the time to enjoy a glass of chardonnay w Camilla on Medis before I went to dinner w my Ayurvedic class:

On april 30th we light BIG ASS fires here in Sweden, to scare away the witches. But since I'm the local witch and I wasn't scared away, I doubt that the fires were doing their job. Anyway, we walked down to the river and looked at the fire, celebrating our non-anniversary (as we call it these days....) and tried to take som nice pics:

Big ass fire:

Then Sofia invited we for a PJparty w pizza, beer, cupcakes and all sorts of goodies. Of course, scary movies were included. I just had to take a pic of her cutie Alva, sooo adorable!

That's all for today. Gotta go back to work. We're painting Jespers office this week. Fun fun fun...
