Last year we invited some of friends, lit a bunchload of candles and ate pizza (I think). Real nice!

New mommy friendly candy!

Ekorren has come out with even one more new flavour of candy. Maybe it's been out for a while, but I saw it for the first time yesterday: Wild Berrys! (the one down to the right)

I tried it yesterday and it was awesome. Flavoured with blueberries, lingonberries and sea-buckthorn. Now all I need is to be able to eat licorice and I'll mix them all in a big bowl and voila; a whole bowl of organic swedish lösgodis. I know, pregnancy cravings talking....

New belly pic, just entered week 29!

Week: 28 full weeks, going on week 29 (28+0)
Weight gained so far: 24 lbs (11kg)
Days 'til due date: 82

Gosh Im getting fat, seriously. Jesper keeps on helping me up from the couch whenever he's there, hahaha.
It's so weird cause you dont really notice WHEN you start growing a belly, all of a sudden it's just there.
The little troll wont let me go to bed before 11:30pm, cause at 11 she's starting her nightly disco in ma belly. I think she's kinda still up until around 4am then she's up n running again, and at 7am, and at 9am. Usually I wake up around 4am and then have trouble falling back to sleep so when she starts dancing again around 7am I get up, theres just no use trying to sleep.
But this morning I popped my earplugs in and decided that nothing was gonna get to wake me up. I did wake up somewhat around 4 but managed to go back to sleep, the same thing happened around 7. Low and behold I "slept" until 8:50am! Feel like a frikkin princess!
Now time to do some work, then brunch and after that I have some alone time so it's time to sit down in front of the piano and write some music for the first time in like forever, woohooo!

28 full weeks, starting week 29!

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

How your life's changing:

You're in the home stretch! The third and final trimester starts this week. If you're like most women, you'll gain about 11 pounds this trimester.

At this point, you'll likely visit your doctor or midwife every two weeks. Then, at 36 weeks, you'll switch to weekly visits. Depending on your risk factors, your practitioner may recommend repeating blood tests for HIV and syphilis now, as well as doing cultures for chlamydia and gonorrhea, to be certain of your status before delivery. Also, if your glucose screening test result was high and you haven't yet had follow-up testing, you'll soon be given the 3-hour glucose tolerance test. And if the blood work done at your first prenatal visit showed that you're Rh negative, you'll get an injection of Rh immunoglobulin to prevent your body from developing antibodies that could attack your baby's blood. (If your baby is Rh positive, you'll receive another shot of Rh immunoglobulin after you give birth.)

Around this time, some women feel an unpleasant "creepy-crawly" sensation in their lower legs and an irresistible urge to move them while trying to relax or sleep. If this sensation is at least temporarily relieved when you move, you may have what's known as restless legs syndrome (RLS). No one knows for sure what causes RLS, but it's relatively common among expectant mothers. Try stretching or massaging your legs, and cut down on caffeine, which can make the symptoms worse. Ask your caregiver if you should try iron supplements, which can sometimes relieve RLS.

Fostrets utveckling - gravid vecka 28

Baby props!

Just ordered some pacis and a teething toy for the little troll:

Anatomically correct paci made out of 100% natural rubber

Teething toy free from silicone and chemical softeners, filled with sterilized water

They both come from http://webbutik.barnmatsbutiken.se. A great place for non-toxic and organic baby stuff!

While she was at it mommy also got something for herself; organic popcorn, yum!

I'm writing a list...

... for what to bring when we go in for delivery. At the top of the list? LICORICE !!!! Organic from Ekorren as a matter of fact:

I havent had any licorice since august so as soon as the little troll pops out, that's what I'll eat. I've made sure Jesper knows that he has to be ready with an open bag so that he can pop one in my mouth as soon as delivery is over. MOMMY NEEDSES LICORICE!!!

Brie, gorgonzola and cured salmon might be harder to bring. That's for sure what I'm gonna eat as soon as I come home from the hospital...

New belly pic: week 28 (27+4)

Week: 27 full weeks, going on week 28 (27+4)
Weight gained so far: 24 lbs (11kg)
Days 'til due date: 86

My braincells for sure aren't getting any more active (the total opposite of the little ninja...). This morning I was gonna make pancaces for breakfast. I started looking through one of my cook books from the 50's, there's a real good reciep in there. I search and I search through the index but I cant find the recipe. After about 5 minutes Im starting to get real pissed since I can't find the darn recipe. Then I realize Im not looking for a pancace recipe, Im looking for a recipe for maternity oil (the one I buy and use to prevent stretch marks). Geez Louise....

Baby scare...

The last month or so our baby girl has really been kicking a lot. So I prepared meeself for some major protesting form her when I was gonna sit down for two days of lectures. But friday-this morning I felt pretty much nothing. She's been real on schedule as well, kicking a lot around 9am and 11pm, but even then I havent felt any kicks.
This morning it was time for our regluar check up at the doctors office so I told her about the whole thing. She checked the babys heartbeats as usual, and they were going up and down a bit.
She told me that she wouldnt have reacted to it if I hadnt told her about the lack of movements. She called the hospital in Gävle (were we've decided to give birth) and consulted another doctor. They came to the conclusion that it could a be "normal" activity, but if I felt more comfortable doing a CTG scan I could. Since I knew that if I didnt I would probably just be sitting around being worried about the whole thing I decided to go get one.
I brought my mom with me and we went to Gävle. Got connected to a CTG machine, the nurse left the room for 20 minutes, as soon as she had left the room the little ninja in ma belly started kicking like crazy and continued doing that for the full 20 minutes....

The results were very good and showed no signs of problem. The nurse also told me thatif the baby is turned inwards you might not feel all the movements, so thats probably what has happened, she's just turned her little booty around.

I counted on being back from my first doctors visit around 11am, I got back at 4pm... Exhausted...
But since I now know everyting is ok at least I can teach tonights class without worrying =)

One hell of a wekend!

Or a weekend from hell? At least the end of it...

Went down to Stockholm on friday night. Came down pretty late so Jenny-Jen came to meet me since I cant run very fast these days, incase someone would attac me....

I was a bit scared I wouldn't sleep at night, since last time I pretty much spent the whole night having maternity sweats. But I actually did sleep some this time so after sitting down pretty much the whole saturday during lecture, I said screw you to my back pain and went with JJ to her sis's to have an awesome dinner and watch Eurovision Song Contest.... or so I thought. Apparently it was just one of those pre-contests. How are you supposed to know when the "real" contest is these days? Im utterly confused...
Since me and JJ are old ladies nowadays, we picked a ride home with her beau around 9.30pm.

On sunday morning it was time for the second day of lectures. I got up at 6.30am, got dressed, took my cabin luggage and dragged it through Narnia (that's how it looks like down there with all the snow...) to the subway. When I finally got to the subway the lady at the desk told me that all trains were canceled. At the same time I saw a trin coming in to the station: "but I see a train coming in right now" I said, and so she shrugged her shoulders and let me buy a ticket. But as soon as the train has stopped all passengers got off the train and I heard the driver say that the station was the last one and everyone had to get off and take a bus instead.
So, we all went like lemmings to what we thought were the bus station from where we were gonna take the bus. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.... Finally a busdriver told os that we had to go to the bus station on the other side of the road to get to where we were going. So, about 30 people the crossed the road to reach the right stop, or so we thought. And so we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited....
I finally called JJ to update her about my misery. She then called traffic information to see what was going on.
Apparently almost all subway lines were at a stand still, and we all were standing at the wrong bus station!!! The right one were way further on down the road, thanks SL... Fortunately they have something called "travelers warranty" that was active that morning, so I got to take a cab to my class. Very nice since it was -20 degrees outside and I was way tired of waiting....

So, I got to my class, and during the first break I hear a girl talking about how all the national trains coming/going through Stockholm also were at a stand still. I called Jesper and asked him to check online, the website was down... I tried calling SJ, their phone service didn't work....
After class I got an automated phone call from SJ where they informed me about the stand still and thanked all their passenegers for their understanding.
When I got to the central station it was CROWDED. Allmost all trains had been canceled druing the day so all passengers were standing/sitting/sleeping, waiting for their train.
My train was supposed to leave at 6.30pm. Up until 6.30pm the borad in the passengers hall didnt show any delays whatsoever for my train, so I was foolish enough to think that was going to be the case... After spending and hour going back and forth between platforms I gave up. I then bumped in to a colleague of mine, so we took turns sitting/looking at the board for updates.
I was just about to give up completely and spend another night in Stockholm when we finally got to get on our train, about 2h later than scheduled. I had booked an X2000, which is the faster train, since my back start hurting if I sit down for too long. Of course the train they finally put us on was and old one... When I asked the ticket lady how much longer the trip was gonna take she told me: "Oh it wont be that much differenc, maybe about 10 minutes longer". Ok, I thought to myself, that's not that bad.
When we were about 15 minutes away from Gävle the train stopped. Another train, going in the opposite direction, was on the same track as us so we had to wait for it to move. So we waited for about 15 minutes. When the train had just left Gävle station it stopped again. They then told us another train had skipped the tracks further on, so we now had to wait for about 20 minutes for an oncoming train to reach Gävle so we could use their tracks, we started moving after about 35 minutes.... Ok, finally we were on our way home. But noooo, we never accelerated as expected. We then were told that there was some sort of signal and gear malfunction because of the cold so the train couldnt go faster than about 5 miles/h, nice....
Eventually the train speeded up. I got to Söderhamn right after 12am instead of 8.30pm. Need I say I was tired?

A hint for Sl and SJ: Maybe you should remember this for next winter: Winter in Sweden = snow and cold weather. If you start working now maybe you have time to come up with a solution in time before next winter. But then again you'll probably be busy for the rest of the year with probmles caused by warmer weather and melting snow (called spring), flowers in bloom and trees covered with green leafes (summer), rain and leafes falling down (fall) and before you know it were back to whats normally called WINTER, poor you....

27 full weeks, going on 28!

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

How your life's changing:

The second trimester is drawing to a close, but as your body gears up for the final lap, you may start noticing some new symptoms. Along with an aching back, for example, you may find that your leg muscles cramp up now and then. They're carrying extra weight, after all, and your expanding uterus is putting pressure on the veins that return blood from your legs to your heart as well as on the nerves leading from your trunk to your legs. Unfortunately, the cramps may get worse as your pregnancy progresses. Leg cramps are more common at night but can also happen during the day. When a cramp strikes, stretching the calf muscle should give you some relief. Straighten your leg and then gently flex your toes back toward your shin. Walking for a few minutes or massaging your calf sometimes helps, too.

Fostrets utveckling - gravid vecka 27

ENOUGH SNOW ALREADY!

WTF, WHERE IS ALL THE SNOW COMING FROM???? Ok I know WHERE it's coming from, I just thought the sky was out of snow for this winter. Someone said that we were gonna get another 70cm within the next couple of days. GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! We can't fit anymore snow outside our house. The parking lot keeps on shrinking and shrinking, soon my students wont be able to park anywhere. If they do park here they risk having their cars covered by an avalanche. Seriousully, I dont think Ive ever seen this much snow in Sweden. Maybe in Austria or France when skiing, but that's the frikkin alps, this is LJUSNE!!!! On top of taht it's gonna be around -18 degrees celsius, nice....

Im supposed to get on a train down to Stockholm tonight, I have my phytotherapy class this weekend. Since SJ (swedish train company) has a tendency of being late even after three snowflakes Im eagerly awaiting todays results. I keep on imagining the train getting stuck in the middle of nowhere, no electricity. We'll start freezing, no help in sight, get so hungry that eventually the ride will turn into a version of "Alive"...Hhhhmm, I better bring a survival kit so that Im prepared....

I wouldnt be surprised if one of these soon will be walking across our front yard:

Better stay inside today....

Sneaky sneaky...

Oooooohhh Im soooo excited. Have a lotchi of secret plans in the makin'......

Kitty aid!

Started to have contractions today. Not any serious ones, only my uterus practicing for things to come. But it didnt really feel comfortable and for some reason the whole thing made me real tired. I dont know if Hera wanted to comfort me or if she was just feeling like cuddeling. But as soon as I sat down in the couch she crawled up in my lap and wouldnt move.
After a while I had to lay down since I was so tired. You think she moved? No way. She just switched position. And while I was laying in fetal position feeling sorry for myself, she slept on my hip. Now I know she's not a "real" baby, but I do wish the real one gets as cuddely as she is =)

Baby protection!

We just ordered this one from La Redoute for our baby girl:

The protection part that is. Of course it's organic =).
The one shown in the pic is the half size one, but we got the full size that reaches around the whole crib. Sooooo cute =)

Me = an ambassador!

I just got an e-mail from Tillväxtverket where it said that I have apparently been chosen as one of their national ambassadors for female business owners.  How cool is that!

There's gonna be a meeting in Stockholm in April where all ambassadors are gonna get to meet eachother. And on february 26th we will all get introduced to the world at www.ambassadorer.se

Hhhmm, is this a time where I should open up the non-alcoholic sparkling wine and celebrate???

Prison break?

Our baby girl's nowadays either trying to kick her way out through my belly button, the side of my belly, or use her tiny (but utterly strong) fingers to scratch her way out through my lower regions. YOUR ARE NOT DONE SERVING TIME IN THERE  MISSY!

Todays menu:

Will consist of these, bunchloads of these and ONLY bunchloads of these:

Its frikkin swedish fat tuesday, so eat at least one and feel awesome!

Fat tuesday here's not the same as in the US. Here we eat semlor, for once swedish peeps dont get wasted:

Go eco for your baby's best!

Just came across some very interesting reading. Im studying for my Phytotherapy class this weekend, and last time we talked a lot about harmful chemicals.
Personally I'd rather spend all my money on organic/non-toxic/environmentally friendly items for my baby, making sure she gets exposed to as little of harmful chemicals as possible, than buy things for myself. I dont want to have to give my baby medicines later on in life due to problems she might suffer, caused by an overdose of some sort of chemical coctail.

Here's some reading for all you mommys and mommys-to-be:

http://ekoleko.wblogg.se/?s=danska+milj%C3%B6styrelsen

You can also read the whole report from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency here:

http://www.dhi.dk/News/RecentNews/65000GrundeTilBedreKemi.aspx

The first link is in swedish and the second one's in danish. But you can use Google Translate for that!

They talk about all the chemicals a "normal" baby get exposed to on a day-to-day basis, from toys, clothes, environment, cleaning supplies, detergent, soap/schampoo etc etc. The scary part is that the report does not include toxins from food (pesticides etc). Add that and you get an even worse coctail. Why expose your baby to that?

Here are some of my tips for making your babys environment safer and healthier:

  • Organic food (you've seen me write about that before, but it's so god damn important that it needs to be said over and over again)
  • Organic/environmentally friendly toys (EkoLeko is a great swedish site, but just google around and you'll find a whole bunch of them)
  • Organic/environmentally friendly clothes (you think "regular" baby clothes are safe? Think again. Clothes today contains a lot of chemicals to for example prevent mold build up. And using 100% cotton doesen't help either. Cotton goes through sort of a "cleaning" process when being prepared, where it for example gets bleached, a process not very good for mother nature. To that they add all sorts of dye that contains chemicals that are harmful for all and everyone. Add anti-mold chemicals and you've got yourself a pretty nice coctail...)
  • Organic/environmentally friendly bedding (same reasoning as for the clothes. I sure dont want my baby sleeping in an environment surrounded by all sorts of harmful chemicals)
  • Bottles/pacifiers with zero chemicals and harmful BPA. Ask around and Google, you'll find a whole bunch of these online!
  • Use organic/non-toxic detergent (like Eco Balls. They're great!). What you use to wash your and your babys clothes stay in them, toxins and chemicals gets soaked up by the skin.
  • Use only organic/environmentally friendly soap when cleaning (like swedish "såpa"). Mix with water in a spray bottle and use wherever you normally would use harsh cleaning supplies like "Mr Muscle" etc. You dont need those nasty chemicals in your house and around your baby. The chemicals stay on the surface that you've cleaned, and we all know babies usually gets around everywhere when they start moving around. Needless to say the chemicals gets in to the air as well...
  • Use only organic/environmentally friendly soaps/shampoo/lotions etc. What goes on your body also gets in to your body, the same goes for your baby. So if your soaps/shampoo/lotions contains for example parabens, they will eventually get in to the body causing a lot of damage. What you dont want to eat you shouldnt put on your body! You can read more about the damages caused by parabens here. They dont do very good things to your uterus, all you pregnant women...

Eco friendly mattress!

Time to buy a mattress for the baby crib. Been looking around for an eco friendly mattress and finally found one that seems pretty good. Since babies spend a lot of time sleeping we dont want our baby girl to be tucked in to a bed filled with a coctail of chemicals from the mattress, pillow, sheets, duvet, pillowcase etc etc. Luckilly you can find everything organic these days.

This is the mattress I found:

"Ronja Plus Allergi" from Grön Interiör

Yes, the eco mattresses are more expensive than the non-organic ones. But if you add the cost of all future medical bills for your child due to an overdose of chemicals that you expose him/her to at an early age (causing allergies etc etc) using the non-organic choice, I would say Im pretty sure the cost for the organic mattress will be way less.

Valentines celebration!

Started the morning with some stevia apple muffins, did some dishes and cleaning, treated my father in law to some lunch at our house, continued cleaning up after yesterdays b-day bash. Now Im just chillin in the couch w kitty sleeping on my belly:

She's being very content right now. Might have something to do that she's the only one in this family who got a valentines gift today, or at least got one ordered for her:

Being our "baby" she's had her own room up til now. But since we're turning that room in to a nursery she has to move out. I know she's gonna be pissed so we ordered a new kitty tower for her. Only $74 including door to door shipping, a frikkin bargain. She'll have her new hideout in the guestroom so hopefully she'll be somewhat satisfied and wont start doing no 1 and 2 everywhere around the house.

Love's gone which means I have some alone time. Doesen't happen that often so now it's time for my weekly 1,5h maternity yoga, woohooo!

Week 27, new belly pic!

Week: 26 full weeks, going on week 27
Weight gained so far: 19,8 lbs (9kg)
Days 'til due date: 96

No weight gain this week. But on the other hand I'v moved mee booty a lotchi this week since my classes started. Or maybe Im just not gaining becuase the baby stopped growin. We're gonna have the smallest baby ever....

26 full weeks, entering week 27!

Gosh my feet are aching. I had a 3h Valentines class last night, and today Ive been up since 7:30 preparing for my dads 60th surprise party. I dont think I sat down once between 8am and 5:30pm, geez louise. But the party was a success, good food and good company. Jesper drove to "kidnap" daddy (he had to wear a blindfold and earplugs) and brought him over to our place where 20 people were waiting for him.
Very nice evening, but niw mommy's exhausted. Love drove my peeps back home and I just passde out in my bed. A good movie is all that's on my schedule for tonight, if the little troll in my tummy will let me lay down. Havent felt her moving throughout the whole day, guess she likes when Im up n running cause now she's kicking like crazy....

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

How your life's changing:

Are you rushing around trying to get to childbirth classes and prepare your baby's room while still taking care of all your other daily tasks? Make sure that you also continue to eat well and get plenty of rest. Around this time, your blood pressure may be increasing slightly, although it's probably still lower than it was before you got pregnant. (Typically, blood pressure falls toward the end of the first trimester, and it tends to reach a low at about 22 to 24 weeks.)

Preeclampsia — a serious disorder characterized by high blood pressure and protein in your urine — most often shows up after 37 weeks, but it can happen earlier so it's important to be aware of the warning signs of this condition. Call your caregiver if you have swelling in your face or puffiness around your eyes, more than slight swelling of your hands, excessive or sudden swelling of your feet or ankles, or rapid weight gain (more than 4 pounds in a week). With more severe preeclampsia, you may experience other symptoms. Let your caregiver know immediately if you have a severe or persistent headache, vision changes (including double or blurred vision, seeing spots or flashing lights, sensitivity to light, or temporary loss of vision), intense pain or tenderness in your upper abdomen, or vomiting.

If your lower back seems a little achy lately, you can thank both your growing uterus — which shifts your center of gravity, stretches out and weakens your abdominal muscles, and may be pressing on a nerve — as well as hormonal changes that loosen your joints and ligaments. Plus, the extra weight you're carrying means more work for your muscles and increased stress on your joints, which is why you may feel worse at the end of the day. Walking, standing, or sitting for long periods, as well as bending and lifting can all put a strain on your back. A warm bath or hot compress might bring relief. (Some women, though, find cool compresses more comforting.) Try to maintain good posture during the day, avoid activities that require bending and twisting at the same time, take frequent breaks when sitting or standing, and sleep on your side with one or both knees bent with a pillow between your legs, using another pillow (or wedge) to support your abdomen.

Fostrets utveckling - gravid vecka 26

This is what mommy needses:

Valentine's for business owners!

Yet another reason to only eat organic and wild game....

Getting fatter by the day....

...and loving it!
But yesterday I broke and fell through a chair. Really, it broke, and I fell through it. The seat did have a crack in it already, but it was a crack that I had made earlier during the day. So the second time on the chair was kinda like the straw that broke the camels back. Geez.....

25 full weeks, going on week 26!

How your baby's growing

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

How your life's changing

Your baby's not the only one with more hair — your locks may look more full and lustrous than ever. It's not that you're growing more hair, but thanks to hormonal changes, the hair that you'd normally shed is sticking around longer than usual. Enjoy the fullness while you can — the extra hair will fall out after you give birth.

You may also notice that you can't move around as gracefully as before. Unless your caregiver has advised you otherwise, it's fine to continue to exercise, but follow a few safety rules: Don't work out when you're feeling overly tired and stop if you feel any pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath. Don't lie flat on your back and avoid contact sports as well as any exercise where you're apt to lose your balance. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and make time for both warm-up and cool-down periods.

When you have your glucose-screening test at 24 to 28 weeks, a second tube of blood may be taken at the same time to check for anemia. If blood tests show that you have iron-deficiency anemia (the most common type of anemia), your caregiver will probably recommend that you take an iron supplement.

Have you started thinking about baby names yet? Choosing a name is an important decision, but it should be a fun one, too. You may want to consider family history (Great Grandpa Zeb), favorite locations (Venice, where you honeymooned), or cherished literary or film characters (Greta, Meg, or Atticus, for example). Check out a couple of baby-name books to help you brainstorm, too.

Fostrets utveckling - gravid vecka 25

New belly pic: going in to week 26!

Week: 25 full weeks, going on 26
Weight gained so far: 19,8 lbs (9kg)
Days 'til due date: 104

So it's about 14 weeks left, maybe even only 11 weeks since the "normal" time span in wchich oyu are expected to give birth is three weeks before and two weeks after your due date. So actually it's between 11-16 weeks left. I'd like a bit more accuracy please....
The newest trick our baby girl has taught herself is to kick me in between my lower ribs Bruce Lee style.... So when Im sitting down in the couch that's what's happening. When I lay down on one side she's kicking downwards in to the matress, laying on my back she's kicking my inner organs, standing up she's already trying to kick her way out of my body. So far I haven't tried standing on my head, maybe that's the best way to be comfortable these days ???
19,8 lbs (9kg) or 17%, try adding that to your own normal body weight and see what happens. Apparently my brain still thinks I weigh as I did in august. So when I dont have enough arm strength to pull meeself up on the dance pole (or have any abs left for that matter) it's not like I go ; "oh, it's just because Im frikkin 6 months pregnant", no I immediately get pissed. Takes a while for me to calm down and start realizing that this is the way it's supposed to be, it's normal. Frustrating, but normal....

Oh well, the problems of a mom in the civilized world. At least I get to eat semlor on saturdays (here's a recipe)!!!

Over and out for the weekend!

Yesterday: Hard at work at home  from morning 'til afternoon then the whole night at the newspaper

Today: Meetings from 11-3pm (including lunch)
Introduction class @ Dinali Center 7pm-now (9pm)

Tomorrow & sunday: I'm aaaaaaaall weekend !!!

Pole dancing classes are starting next week, so I have to get meeself a lotchi of rest before then. My maternity yoga class got canceled (Im utterly pissed about that....) so Ive decided to do yoga at home every sunday instead. But that's about all Im gonna do this weekend.
Oh, and celebrate mee daddy tomorrow w some yummy yum yum food! I like food.....

Peace out dudes!

No yoga for mama =(

My maternity yoga class that was supposed to start this sunday and that Ive been looking forward to for soooooooo long has been canceled =(, bullcrap....
Apparently I was the only one signed up for the class. Wtf!!!

Efficiency at the highest level!

God damn it Im efficient today. Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that Iv've been awake since 4.30am... Apaprently my body seems to think that's a great time to wake up these days. I tried falling back to sleep until the clock showed 5:00am, then I gave up and started readin a book instead. The little circus princess in my tummy wakes up around the same time every morning so that might be another reason I keep waking up.
I read until 6:30, then I tried going back to sleep. I was half asleep between then and 8:30, then I got up to watch the morning news and eat an awesome breakfast consisting out of homemade cocoa w whipped cream and some sourdough toast with bunchloads of butter (I kid you not) and cheese, yum =)

Since then Ive been down at the office doing my bookkeeping. Gotten meeself a brand new program so that I can keep track of all paperwork and hopefully I wont have to use our accountant anymore. He's real good, but my wallet seems to like the fact that I will be saving a lotchi lotchi of money doing everything myself.

Now it's 1:10pm, and Ive just been called in to work at the newspaper tonight. It's a frikkin blizzard outside so I wont be driving, fortunately my co-worker can drive.

But before Im off to work at 4pm Im gonna make meeself some cinnamon rolls. They're actually not for me but for mee daddy who's turning 60 next week. But a good chef always has to taste her makings before letting other people try them out, right?

Over and out!

Today's the day!

Yup, that's right. Im going outside today. It's only about -1 degree celsius and that's a very good temperature for a walk. When it goes down 'til between -10 to -20 I have no love for the outsides. Gimme spring goddamnit!!!

One way to spend an afternoon...

... is to study the upper digestive system, colons, liver, gallbladder and bodily detox. That's what Im doing right now. Im feeling kinda like a "real" doctor, hahaha. It's part of my phytotherapy course, to learn about all the organs in the body and their function(s). Really interesting as a matter of fact.
The cool part of this course, as well as the Ayurvedic one I took last year, is that you learn and come to understand so much about yourself and the people closest to you. But you have to be real careful not to "preach" too much, Ive learned that practicing is the right way to go. Live as you learn!

After this tonights dinner's in the making. Im actually gonna add the recipe to my other blog Dianas Kök (haven't touched that one for a while). Unfortunately I dont write in english in that blog, so Google Translate is the name of the game for ya'll who wanna get the recipe and dont read swedish =).

Now back to my colon studies. So long!

Husband killer

I made my fruit bars, and in the midst of it al I added some nuts to the mixture. I think I had an idea about adding some hony as well. And since beau dont eat honey I figured it was ok to add nuts as well. The thing is, he's extremely allergic to nuts of all sorts, he'll die if he eat one. He even gets an allergic reaction if Ive eaten nuts and then give him a kiss, scary.

For some reason I didn't add honey to the bars, but I still added nuts. When he asked me what I had made I told him it was dried fuit bars w cocoa flavour. Could he have some? Of course! And so he took a piece and ate a bite. Luckilly he didnt really like it so he didnt finish the whole piece. And it seemed like the one bite he had actually didnt have any nuts in it, apparently not even traces, cause he didnt get a reaction yesterday.

This mornign when I ate a piece meeself and realized I had added nuts to it I freaked out. I had almost killed my husband yesterday! Geez Louise. I dont know why I had forgotten about the nuts. Im usually very good a keeping track of what I put in the food and always make sure that I dont add nuts to anythign that Jesper would want to eat.
Scary scare......

Here comes the cravings!

Sweets, sweets and more sweets, thats all I want. Gaaaaaahhh! I usually can control my cravings but thes pregnancy craving are killing me. It's like I wanan spend the next 15 weeks in bed watching tv with just a bunchload of candy.

To keep them in control Im trying a new recipe for dried fruit bars, no added sugar. Hopefully they will help me from turning in to an uncontrolled craving machine!

We're eating a bowl of fruit salad almost every night, that also helps keep the cravings surpressed. But thank god it's monday today, that means its only five days until the official candy day; saturday!

Analyze this!

Had a weird combo of dreams last night, so I decided to analyze meeself using dreammoods.com. Here's the result:

  • I have set overly high and unrealistic goals for myself. My goals may be too high and are impossible to realize. I  am in danger of having it come crashing down. Alternatively, I lack of confidence, self-defeating attitude and self-doubt toward the goals I have set for myself is represented by the dream; I do not believe in my ability to attain those goals. Loss of power and uncertainty in achieving my goals are also signified. (hhmmm, inner stress maybe?)

  • I will overcome my obstacles and rise to a new level of prominence and status. I may experience a higher consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness. Perhaps I need to gain a better perspective or wider view on something. It might suggest that an idea or plan is about to take off and be put into action. It may also represent I need to get away and escape from my daily life. (see, I neeeeedses a vacay....)

  • The dream implies an important transitional phase in my life which will take me away from my intended path. These changes will take me to new directions and new heights of status and recognition. (sounds nice, exciting)

  • The dream indicates some sort of contamination, either physical or emotional. You may feel vulnerable in a relationship. Alternatively, it signifies a fear of sex or an imbalance in sexual energy. (oh boy)

My conclusion from the above interpretations is that I should dream big but relax a bit, and go on a vacay!
