This morning:

From our bedroom window:

IT'S A FRIKKIN SNOWSTORM (still) ! Felt like a kid at christmas this morning. I didn't even pull the blinders down last night, wanted to wake up and see the snow the first thing I did. I might be weird, but I haven't been present for the first snow of the year since 2002 (holy crap!), so I'm sooooooo excited!

Hera decided to hang out on my lap last night at 2am so I wouldn't be able to go to bed:

Best but EVER

Gotta go eat my gruel now!

peace/D

Merry Christmas (in october?)

IT'S SNOWING !!! AAAAAAAAAAH

I can't believe it, it's sooooo cool. Maybe this means that the frikkin' moth's that have been occupying our front door are finally dead (DIE MOTH DIE), woohooo. Free drinks for everyone!

Goin' on a expotition (as Tigger would say) this weekend with my Jen. We're off to a health fair in Stockholm ( http://www.harmoniexpo.com/ ). Strictly business (yup, I'm paying it through Dinali Center so then I get to deduct the VAT. Aaaah life as a business owner is peachy!), but also a lot of fun!

We're driving down to Stockholm (me and 4 concert-hungry guys) so we have to change to winter tires on our car. No, you don't put snow chains on, I don;t care what it says in the CA drivers manual. I'd feed that one to the goat if I had one....

Surrender, for real.....

I surrendered for real this morning. Woke up around 6am feeling really nauscious, covered in cold sweat. I thought it would pass, but it didnt. When I got up from bed around 7am I felt like I was gonna pass out. It was so strange since I was feeling really good all day yesterday. So I decided to break the fast. I was actually going to get to eat pureed veggies today, but I had to mve straight onto Mungdahl-beans and ghee. Then Jesper went and got me some tangerines, and now Im feeling.... almost ok....

Read in my Ayurveda-book yesterday that Vata-people (which would be me) shouldn't fast at all, since fasting increases Vata. At least now I know how it feels like and I can tell my patients. But I must say that this fast was terrible. Im gonna stick t the ""Lemon Diet" next time.....

Right nw Im laying on the couch watching "the Wind in the Willows" (Det susar i saven), preparing to go n do my skid-pan test!

News from TELIA!

"Charge your pre-paid phonecard through your cellphone, fast, easy and free!"

Free my ass. You need money on your pre-paid card to download the f&^%$#g client that you need in order to use the service. Stupid TELIA. If I had money on my pre-paid card, I wouldn't have to charge it now would I?

Smart, reeeeally smart..... Anyone surprised?

Things I'm gonna eat....

.... when I'm done with my fast (sunday):

  1. Cheetos (the swedish ones from OLW)
  2. Pizza (with Döner kebab on it)
  3. Chocolate (85% cocoa)
Yup, that's gonna be my sunday in a nutshell!

Back on track!

Passed out around 9pm last night, while trying to watch "A Mighty Heart". Guess Im gonna have to watch that one all over again....
Woke up around 4am from a bad dream. Someone had kidnapped me, so I had to slit his throat. Yuk. I soooo had to pee so I got up and went to the bathroom. When I got out, I got so scared from walking around in the dark so I ran as fast as I could back into the bedroom and slammed the door. Jesper "woke up" and looked really dazed n confused, then he fell back to sleep. I couldn't fall asleep, so I lay awake for about 2h.

But this morning I woke up feeling fresh as a spring rose, So I decided to continue with my fast. I have my skid-pan test tomorrow, hopefully my fast-mood wont interfer with that....

I surrender...

This is officially the worst fast EVER! Never in my life have I experienced such hunger. Usually I do "the Lemon DIet"-fast. And since the recipe for that one conatins maple-syrup, it keeps up your blood-sugar. But this bouillon-shizzle is driving me nuts. My head hurts, I feel nausiated and overall weak. We did learn that it is also good to do this fast one a week, so I think that will have to do it for me. Tomorrow, Im back to eating normal, healthy food again. And next sunday, Im going on the one-day fast again, woohooo!

New colour?

Gonna cut my hair next week. And I just figured that maybe I should colour it as well? See, I kinda like not having to colour it all the time, and have a natural colour. But at the same time, isn't it kinda boring to walk around your entire life looking the same? I mean, it grows back doesen't it?

Of course I'm not going to use the "regular" hair dyes. Im going natural an organic! I've found 2 different kind of dyes that I think might work: Tints of Nature & Logona.

Anyone ever hear of these babies? If so, which one's the best?

Fast(er pussycat!)

Some of you might now that I try to do a fast once or twice a year to rinse out the toxins. Well we have some homework for the next Ayurvedic-class, and that involves incorporating some of the Ayurvedic routines into our normal one. I have therefore started drinking pretty much only hot-water or Rooibos tea whenever Im thirsty (no cold drinks allowed). I also make a thermos of ginger-tea every morning, which I zip throughout the day. And today, I started the Ayurvedic 7-day fast. For the next  two days, this is the ONLY thing Im allowed to drink (no solid food is to be partaken):

Yup, it looks like pee, but it ain't. It's a vegetable bouillion (without spices or salt) that I have to make every morning, and drink whenever Im hungry. Im not allowed to eat any of the veggies, so Jespers dad is making his own soup out of those.... I can drink some water (hot) and/or rooibos-tea/ginger-tea though. And on tuesday I'm allowed to eat some of the actual veggies as well, woohooo!

We watched a scary movie last night. Knew I would have nightmares, and so I did. I dreamt that I had to kill and old scary lady, cut her head off. But when I did, I discovered that she was made out of sponge-cake with orange-cream filling (?). She had also put a bunch of cats in her house (which were right were I was keeping Hera) that was "her" in some weird way. The cats looked kinda like Hera, so I had to be really careful not to cut off her head. And I knew I had to cut off their heads as weel, if the scary lady weren't to come back and haunt me. The cats were also made out of sponge-cake (w orange-cream filling) as I discovered when I cut off their heads, tooootally trippin' dream....
Might have something to do with the fact that I drank a bunch of Fanta while watching the scary movie (which of course had a scary lady in it....).

Officially a "Garneij"!

Got the confirmation back on my name-change yesterday. So now I'm officially a "Garneij", not a "Morin anymore! But I still can't find meself anywhere online (except for Facebook n such). Been trying to find "Diana Garneij" in the online phonebook, without any luck.
Well, at least I've got the same initials as Dolce&Gabbana now, woohoo! Think they can sue my ass for that?

Malin Wollin

(Jennis is the blond girl. The dark haired one is Jamina, her sister. Whos daughter Freya also got baptized)

Unfortunately I don't have any pics from the SPA-evenigh this weekend. But it was lovely, I'll tell you!

On sunday we went to my mom and dads cause it was my moms b-day on the 14th. Didn't take any pics then either, I suck......
Yesterday (monday) we woke up at 12.20pm (!), got dressed, and went straight to Jespers grandparents. His grandma turned 73 so we went over to celebrate her!

Jespers cousin Jenny came over with her little miracle "Mille"

PS: My toe don't hurt no more, halleluuuuuuljah!

My week...

  1. Removed a mole all by myself by scratching it so hard it started bleeding (it was right under the brah-strap...), and then I had to rip it off because it was literally just hanging by a thread....
  2. My man and I was carrying a heavy-ass couch down the stairs, and for some reason I made a weird twist of my upperbody counter my lowerbody which resulted in the sciatica nerv being squeesed, and so it would remain...
  3. Kicked my strip-pole so hard I thought I broke my toe.
  4. Kicked the desk-leg at work with my thought-to-be broken toe.

Think I should buy a lottery-ticket?

New plan

So instead of paying 1400 SEK to do my skid-pan test today, I have to go to the doctors office, pay 313 SEK to get a certificate stating that my toe hurts like hell, so that I can change the appointment for my test without having to pay them the full amount twice.

The nurse at the doctors office kept insisting in me taking my test anyway: "What do you mean, how can a hurting toe affect your driving? You know, we can't really get you in today, we have to deal with the sick people first. How about monday, you wanna come in then?"
Well she straight up got told that that wasn't possible since I needed the certificate today, and so it shall be done!

Don't think my toe is broken tough, it hurts less today. But it's still a little swollen and blueish, and I can't put my shoe on cause then it hurts. Yeah, how do that actually affect my driving? Maybe they'll let me drive au naturel a la CA (barefoot that is), but I don't think so.....

Broken toe!

I think I broke my toe today. Sucks.... If it's blue tomorrow I'll know for sure. and I who was supposed to do my skid-pan test tomorrow for my drivers-license. Holy crap....

(It's the wrong toe on the pic tough. .....)

I NEED this car:

http://motortips.blogspot.com/2008/10/mdi-releases-concept-car-airpod.html

http://www.aftonbladet.se/bil/article3536881.ab

It's got room for three people, runs on regular oxygen (witch I doubt we're gonna run out of...) and has a max-speed of about 45 miles/hour (that's 70km/hour). Will probably be available on the European and Indian market next year. You US-peep's are gopnna have to wait until 2010.

The price? around $8500 (60.000:-). A bargain!

Gonna put that on my wishlist for next christmas....

Natural beauty

I've just started making my own lavender facial-toner. Instead of using the store-bought ones (where you usually can't even read the names of the ingredientes and you probably don't want to know what they conatin either) I now get a really cheap toner that's great for the skin and contains no toxic or harmful substances. Here's the recipe:

Lavender Toner

0,5 dl dried Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
5 dl Water (preferably spring water, but regular tap-water works fine as well)

Put the water in a pot and bring to a boil. Remove the pot from the burner and add the lavender. Put the lid on, and let the lavender steep for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain the mixture through a cheese-cloth to remove the lavender. Keep the toner in a glass-jar in the fridge, and use as nessecary!

You can also put some dried Pot Marigold/English Marigold (Ringblomma) in the toner, witch also works very well for people with acne, exzema etc. In that case, you use 0,25dl Lavender and 0,25 dl Pot Marigold/English Marigold, and steep as usual!

Since this toner does not contain any alcohol, it's only good for about one week. If you want to you can add some alcohol, vinegar or lemonjuice to prolong the past-due-date. But since those ingredientes aren't very good for dry skin, I don't recommend this.

Lavender toner is very good for people with normal/dry skin, acne, eczema, inflamed and irritated skin. If you for example have exzemas on your arms, you can put the toner in a spraybottle and spray it on the problem area after taking a shower or before going to bed!

Good Luck!

Trick or treat?

Good times, good times

Spent the evening with an old friend I haven' seen for ages. We used to hang out all the time back in the days, but life got in the way. It was really good to see her again, it's been about 5-6 years since I last saw her.
It's so much fun when you don't see people for a long time, and when you finally do it just feels so normal again. I know I don't really know what has been going on in her life for the past 5 years, but it still felt really nice to sit down, sip some rose', talk about old times and just hang.
Looking forward to more hangout's like that!

New last name!

I just fond out that I can legally change my last name to "Garneij" BEFORE I get my Swedish drivers-license, as long as I carry my Swedish ID with me at all times. So now I'm off to the post-office to send in the papers for the name-change!

Woohooo!

Welcome to my new blog!

Figured I should change my blog, since the last one's address derived from my former last name, and is therefore kinda awkward to retain.

Wish me luck!
